Whats the minimum internet speed I need to safely view the webcast?

Required Internet Connection to Webcast

We recommend viewing the webcast from a wired connection with a download speed of at least 700Kbps. If you have decided to encode at a higher bitrate, viewers will need a higher speed.

To test your speed, go to www.speedtest.net. Bandwidth fluctuates constantly (especially on WiFi and mobile internet), so running 3 tests is recommended. Make sure to choose the closest city to where you are located.

As a general rule, your download bandwidth must be greater than the bitrate of the event broadcast you’re trying to watch.

Here are some resolutions and what internet speed you will need to view at each size.

Resolution: 480x270

  • Bitrate: 150Kbps

Resolution: 768x432

  • Bitrate: 550Kbps

Resolution: 1280x720

  • Bitrate: 2000Kbps

Is there a sample video for me to test my playback system?

Do test your connection prior to the event by playing the video below. If the video plays back on your system, you would have completed playback testing as it uses the same streaming mechanism and bandwidth requirements.
